Today’s message, “Fixed On Joy” is designed to help us celebrate the complete provision that God has made to provide us who believe in Jesus a means to walk in a supernatural peace even though we are surrounded by an ever changing world filled with disappointments and unpleasant and unwanted circumstances which tend to steal our Joy!
Old Testament Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 33:26 – 29 (KJV)
Deu 33:26 There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.
Deu 33:27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.
Deu 33:28 Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.
Deu 33:29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.
New Testament Scripture Reading: Jude 1:1 – 3 (KJV)
Heb 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Heb 12:3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
Heb 12:4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
Heb 12:5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
Heb 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Heb 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Transforming Power Statements:
1) The Bible is a book of real-life illustrations of ordinary people who reveal for us the consistency of Almighty God Who is perfectly HOLY; Who also has fixed His LOVE on mankind, by providing new mercy everyday, and His promises to save everyone who believes in Him, through His Son Jesus The Christ, which must be done on HIS TERMS, Not theirs!
2) The covenant people, the children of Israel, were produced by God out of the Gentiles, to become the focal point of God’s great love for all mankind, but also to become the vehicle through which God would provide His Son Jesus to make a single way for all people who believe in Him to be delivered from the fears of this constantly changing , ever fluctuating world of ever-changing circumstances, disappointments, fears, and the like, and for them who believe in His Son and His provisions to be able to know that God Who is as present as the sky above also has underneath us His everlasting arms!
3) Jesus was lazer-focused on the cross where He alone would provide security to every believer, while at the same time pay the debt of all the sins of each one who places their trust in His finished work so that in spite of all the negative things that this life contains, we can live a life Fixed On Joy!
