The Sixteenth President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln once is believed to have said: “You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.” However, we must explicitly say that: “You cannot fool God at anytime!”
Today’s message, “Make No Mistake About Jesus” is designed to leave us no other choice than to either trust Jesus or dismiss Him entirely, because Jesus is the most misunderstood person the world has ever had to deal with, and is the focal point of everything taught in the Bible. Therefore every individual must: “Make No Mistake About Jesus”
Old Testament Scripture Reading: Isaiah 9:6 – 7 (KJV)
Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Isa 9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
New Testament Scripture Reading: 1Corinthians 1:18 – 25 (KJV)
1Co 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
1Co 1:19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
1Co 1:20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
1Co 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
1Co 1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
1Co 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
1Co 1:24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
1Co 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
Transforming Power Statements:
1) Isaiah plainly reveals in this and many other passages in his book that there is no way to misunderstand that the Christ, who is Jesus, is not only the “Child Who is born”, and the Son “Who is given” but is also “Jesus is the son of David, upon Whom the government shall rest, He is equal with the Father / the Almighty, the everlasting Father and simultaneously the Prince of Peace! (See Psalms 2:1 – 12)
2) The most important message in the Word of God from Genesis to Revelation, is the message about Jesus Christ, Who ALONE is “The Savior” which “God His Father” has prophesied and sent exactly in accordance with His Word, to be the ONLY correct way to approach God at all, for all people in all of time!
3) The Apostle Paul makes plain that it is the preaching of the cross of Christ that is the very thing that has become a stumblingblock to the Jews; and is considered foolishness to the Gentiles, because it is barbaric, and reveals the utter misunderstanding of fallen man to understand how much God loves us, and that He Alone through what seems to be weakness from a human view is in fact the most powerful expression of Love ever displayed!
