Developing A New Allegiance

Ever wonder why you sometimes feel that the things of the bible are too hard for you to do, or that somehow you are not in sync with what the Word teaches you to do? Listen in and learn as Pastor: Landis explains some profound ideas concerning developing a new allegiance to God that will be a blessing to you to assist your understanding as to why this conflict so often exists and how our growth in Christ may be seen as developing a new allegiance.

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Genesis 7:1 – 7  (NASB)

Gen 7:1  Then the LORD said to Noah, “Enter the ark, you and all your household; for you alone I have seen to be righteous before Me in this time.

Gen 7:2  “You shall take with you of every clean animal by sevens, a male and his female; and of the animals that are not clean two, a male and his female;

Gen 7:3  also of the birds of the sky, by sevens, male and female, to keep offspring alive on the face of all the earth.

Gen 7:4  “For after seven more days, I will send rain on the earth forty days and forty nights; and I will blot out from the face of the land every living thing that I have made.”

Gen 7:5  And Noah did according to all that the LORD had commanded him.

Gen 7:6  Now Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of water came upon the earth.

Gen 7:7  Then Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him entered the ark because of the water of the flood.A

New Testament Scripture Reading: 1 John 2:12 – 17  (NASB)
1 John 2:12  I am writing to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for His name’s sake.
1 John 2:13  I am writing to you, fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I have written to you, children, because you know the Father.
1 John 2:14  I have written to you, fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.
1 John 2:15  Do not love the world, nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1 John 2:16  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.
1 John 2:17  And the world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God abides forever.
Transforming Power Statements:

#1) The Scriptures promise that those who seek to know God by faith shall be redeemed and enjoy a growing relationship and fellowship with God which will align their will with His will. (Phil 1:6  For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.)

#2) If we are saved, regardless of which stage of growth we are in, we are fully accepted and covered by the grace of God in our salvation and have victory over the world, the flesh and the devil and are under no obligation to give the system any unbiblical allegiance.

#3) Growing up in Christ from a spiritual child to a spiritual father could be thought of as developing a new progressive allegiance to God which has been made possible by Christ’s sacrifice for us which enables those who believe to acquire biblical knowledge that sets them apart from the fallen ways of the world system and opens their eyes more and more to the realities of truth that make us free.
