Walking The Lighted Path

In our previous message “What Am I Going To Do?” we concluded that no matter how things appear in this life, we are determined not to lose our God-given focus on spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and being thankful for God’s grace! Today, let us consider how this can work out for us as we continue “Walking The Lighted Path”

Old Testament Scripture Reading Psalms 61:1 – 8 (KJV)

Psa 61:1 Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.

Psa 61:2  From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

Psa 61:3  For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.

Psa 61:4  I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.

Psa 61:5  For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name.

Psa 61:6  Thou wilt prolong the king’s life: and his years as many generations.

Psa 61:7  He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.

Psa 61:8  So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.

New Testament Scripture Reading: 2Thessalonians 3:1 – 5 (KJV)

2Th 3:1  Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:

2Th 3:2  And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.

2Th 3:3  But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.

2Th 3:4  And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.

2Th 3:5  And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) When the load of life gets to be overwhelming always remember that God our Father, said for us to cast all our cares upon Him, for HE is able to carry them; and HE has promised to give us rest and protection; because HE is a strong tower for the righteous to run in to and be safe!

2) The Psalmist was aware that not only does trouble not last always, but that when it seems to be closing in on us, God has not left us alone; but He is a Strong Tower that we can run in to and be safe as we walk by Faith!

3) The Apostle Paul explains the necessity of prayer not only for ourselves, but also for the gifted leaders placed in the Church to encourage and edify the flock, so that we all might continue to stay on course by preaching Christ Jesus crucified no matter what the false church and the world are doing!
