Walking Securely In The Spirit

Our study in the book of Romans has come to the eighth chapter and our teacher, Pastor Landis Fisher has began a teaching of what the work of the Holy Spirit is in the life of every one who believes and accepts the gospel of Jesus Christ. Listen in as we go into the doctrine of the work of the indwelling Holy Spirit of God for the security of the believer in a message called: “Walking Securely In The Spirit”

New Testament Scripture Reading: Romans 8:1 – 9  (NASB)
Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. Rom 8:3 For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, Rom 8:4 in order that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Rom 8:5 For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. Rom 8:6 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, Rom 8:7 because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so; Rom 8:8 and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. Rom 8:9 However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.
Study Notes: #1) The flesh, which is the spirit of the old fallen nature, continues to militate against the perfect will of God in the life of all who are saved by grace through faith in Jesus the Messiah, and those who have believed the gospel must learn to overcome it’s evil impulses by wilful obedience to the will of God through the Spirit and the Word of God. #2) The Holy Spirit is God’s free gift to each and every one who believes the Gospel and is the seal of the salvation that God provides for free to everyone who is in Christ Jesus. #3) The gift of the Holy Spirit offers comfort and security to all true believers and is a great thing to be treasured in all generations…!!!!.
