Walking In The Status Of Victory

As we learned last Lord’s Day, the necessity of how we walk before God, now that we are saved by faith in Jesus Christ alone, is crucial! Today, let us study this idea even further in a message that is being called “Walking In The Status Of Victory”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Psalms 13:1 – 6 (KJV)

Psa 13:1  To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

Psa 13:2  How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?

Psa 13:3  Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

Psa 13:4  Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

Psa 13:5  But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

Psa 13:6  I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

New Testament Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 10:1 – 5 (KJV)

2Co 10:1  Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:

2Co 10:2  But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.

2Co 10:3  For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

2Co 10:4  (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

2Co 10:5  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Transforming Power Statements:

1) Although the Psalmist is crying out because of afflictions that seem to be ignored by God, he begins to rethink the obstacles and give God glory for all the abundant grace and mercy that God has chosen to provide instead!

2) From the very beginning, when Adam sinned,  God never changed, therefore, His great love provided a covering for Adam’s sin, rather than giving him what he had earned, which was death, but rather, God’s Mercy, because of God’s love!

3) By trusting the love of God through Jesus Christ His Son, all believers are placed on a new road in life, and God chooses to create the atmosphere which makes self improvement possible, but also allows us to rely on His instruction and His Spirit as we develop!!!!!
