Walking in the Shepherd’s LoveGreetings and Happy New Year!

Jesus said that He was the “Good Shepherd” Who came to guide the sheep of God into His heavenly fold. With this in mind, as we begin a new year, let us listen in as Pastor Landis Fisher teaches a lesson at the Dickerson Memorial Community Church that promises to stir your passion to be the best sheep you can be in a message which he has titled: “Walking in the Shepherd’s Love”.

Old Testament Scripture Reading: 2 Samuel 23:1 – 7  (KJV)
2 Sam 23:1  Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,

2 Sam 23:2  The spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.

2 Sam 23:3  The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.

2 Sam 23:4  And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.

2 Sam 23:5  Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.

2 Sam 23:6  But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands:

2 Sam 23:7  But the man that shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the same place.

New Testament Scripture Reading: Hebrews 13:7 – 25  (KJV)
Heb 13:7  Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

Heb 13:8  Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Heb 13:9  Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

Heb 13:10  We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.

Heb 13:11  For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.

Heb 13:12  Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

Heb 13:13  Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.

Heb 13:14  For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

Heb 13:15  By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

Heb 13:16  But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Heb 13:17  Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Heb 13:18  Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.

Heb 13:19  But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.

Heb 13:20  Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

Heb 13:21  Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Heb 13:22  And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words.

Heb 13:23  Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you.

Heb 13:24  Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.

Heb 13:25  Grace be with you all. Amen.

Transforming Power Statements:

1)Leadership is God’s choice for the means of teaching, counseling, growing and sanctifying His people, therefore, discipleship must be considered as a most important aspect of Christian living, and not an option.

2) We have a responsibility to one another as well, to nurture one another and to set our hearts on working as a team to accomplish God’s plan and will on Earth, knowing that we are the actual ‘body’ of the LORD Jesus Christ; the only hands, feet, and lips, etc. He has.

3) Love expressed one to another is the outward show that proves the inner change that has taken place and is also therefore the best evidence of the existence of true salvation and is the most effective form of evangelism which is undeniable to the lost world.
