Victory Through The Word And The Spirit

The Holy Bible is the greatest book ever written, and for that matter, the greatest one that ever will be as well! Yet, there are many in the world who do not trust the Bible, as well as some who misinterpret the Bible, and even others who use the Bible for disingenuous and even nefarious purposes.  Just how should we understand all these different reactions to the Word of Truth, which God dispensed through forty authors over 1600 years, for the purpose of saving all the people who would believe it and walk in it? Listen in to our lesson today which will shed some light on how all who believe God’s WORD (i.e. The Bible) can experience “Victory Through The Word And The Spirit”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Zechariah 4:1 – 6 (KJV)

Zec 4:1  And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep,

Zec 4:2  And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:

Zec 4:3  And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.

Zec 4:4  So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?

Zec 4:5  Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.

Zec 4:6  Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

New Testament Scripture Reading:  1 John 2:15 – 25 (KJV)

1Jn 2:15  Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1Jn 2:16  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

1Jn 2:17  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

1Jn 2:18  Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

1Jn 2:19  They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

1Jn 2:20  But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

1Jn 2:21  I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

1Jn 2:22  Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

1Jn 2:23  Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

1Jn 2:24  Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

1Jn 2:25  And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) God’s Word is Spiritual and therefore, must be understood through divine revelation from God, and cannot be known without direct intervention by God, which HE gives to those who believe HIM and are called by faith to receive this understanding, which is a “super-natural” gift.

2) The Prophets from Moses through Malachi, and all others who believed God by faith, were granted special revelation in which God promised “a seed”, which was utilized by God to preserve a people for His Own possession, which also provided a “human course” through which JESUS CHRIST HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, was delivered to the world to be the ONLY SAVIOR of all people who trust HIM alone for their salvation.

3) The Apostle John gives believers a spiritual prescription for the application of God’s Word to every matter of this life, which is summarized according to the focus of the love of the Word of God, and guided by the Spirit of God, to produce and maintain the works of God, in the people of God, who are the ones who walk by Faith and not by sight.
