Old Testament Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 30:1 – 9 (KJV)

Jer 30:1  The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

Jer 30:2  Thus speaketh the LORD God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.

Jer 30:3  For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.

Jer 30:4  And these are the words that the LORD spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah.

Jer 30:5  For thus saith the LORD; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.

Jer 30:6  Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?

Jer 30:7  Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

Jer 30:8  For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him:

Jer 30:9  But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.

New Testament Scripture Reading: Romans 11:25 – 33 (KJV)

Rom 11:25  For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

Rom 11:26  And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

Rom 11:27  For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

Rom 11:28  As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes.

Rom 11:29  For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

Rom 11:30  For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

Rom 11:31  Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

Rom 11:32  For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

Rom 11:33  O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

Transforming Power Statements:

1) As we see the events prophesied in the Word coming to pass in the daily news “how should we react being the authorized spokespeople of Jesus Christ?” This is a question that we must consider so that our mission is not hindered, and so that we ourselves do not fall away and be misled by the people who are under the deception of the age.

2) Jeremiah the prophet was given precise information about the future history of the seed of Jacob (commonly known as the sons of Israel and many other synonymous names, i.e. Covenant people, seed of Abraham, sons of Abraham, daughter of Zion, Israel and Judah, etc. ) although there were many people in his time who got caught up in the winds of the enemies of God to the point that they saw Jeremiah as a trouble-maker rather than as a spokesman for the Most High God, because they did not like what he had to say.

3) It has been stated by the Apostle Paul, that there is a spiritual mystery involved in the unbelief of Israel, who has rejected the Gospel of Jesus Christ for over two thousand years as a nation, that is easily seen by the clear facts that they would still be involved in building another Temple, which is exactly what the Word of God has stated, and is an obvious sign of their unbelief in the obvious reality that Messiah, Jesus Christ has already come to be the ONLY SAVIOR of the world.
