New Testament Scripture Reading: Colossians 3:16 – 17 (NASB)
Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Col 3:17 Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
Transforming Power Statements:
1) We are chosen by God to be His own personal possession, and to be adopted by Him through faith in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ His Only Begotten Son, and have become fellow heirs with Christ Jesus by faith alone in His resurrection and the power of the Holy Spirit, Who continues to instruct us in His Word, rebuke us about our sins, and comfort us to continue in our dedication to the Truth of God’s Word.
2) The Psalmist David in Psalm 16 reveals a Messianic revelation of Jesus Christ which was applied in the Acts of the Apostles in a sermon by Peter, indicating that David in the Spirit was speaking about Jesus and not himself Who is the risen Servant of God Who did not decay but rather rose from the dead, to secure believers of all time with the hope of the resurrection, and the promises of sanctification by grace.
3) The Apostle Paul commanded the believers in Colossians to let the “Word of Christ” dwell in them richly, and to teach it, meditate on it, sing about it, lovingly apply it to one another, while giving thanks to the Father through Jesus Christ, and in His Name!
