New Testament Scripture Reading: ( Romans 8:28 – 30 KJV)

Rom 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Rom 8:29  For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Rom 8:30  Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) The mysteries and unknown facets of life confront everyone, and sometimes even produce anxiety, tension and fear in our lives because there are so many possibilities of just how a thing might work out and there is much that is completely out of our control to the point that this reality has affected us all from time to time in many different ways, so that just as it was with the Israelites, Moses let them know that God does not reveal it all, but just what He has chosen to so that we learn to trust Him for the “secret things”.

2) The Word of God is always the best source from which to build up confidence about that which is not known by observing that which “is known” about God’s program and promises, so that spiritually imparted understanding can override negative fears and become a source of anchoring during the storms of life as we navigate through both the seen and unseen.

3) David shows us in this Psalm the outcome of the promises revealed in Psalm 2, so that it adds another layer of hope for the believer in the confidence of God to perform everything He has said no matter what people, even kings think; and realizing this produces faith which is the substance of things “hoped for” and evidence of things not seen; and this entire idea is what Paul writes to us in perhaps the best known section in  Romans so that we can be strong knowing that the outcome of all things is being handled by God and for our benefit!
