The World Through The Lens Of Truth II

Come along and return to a crucial topical message on world view and values as Pastor: Landis continues with this crucial topic which he began on last LORD’s Day. Come and learn what the Holy Scriptures teach about how we as the redeemed of the LORD should see the world; just as God has said: Through The Lens of Truth, His perfect Word.

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Ecclesiastes11:1 – 12-1  (NASB)
Eccl 11:1  Cast your bread on the surface of the waters, for you will find it after many days.

Eccl 11:2  Divide your portion to seven, or even to eight, for you do not know what misfortune may occur on the earth.

Eccl 11:3  If the clouds are full, they pour out rain upon the earth; and whether a tree falls toward the south or toward the north, wherever the tree falls, there it lies.

Eccl 11:4  He who watches the wind will not sow and he who looks at the clouds will not reap.

Eccl 11:5  Just as you do not know the path of the wind and how bones are formed in the womb of the pregnant woman, so you do not know the activity of God who makes all things.

Eccl 11:6  Sow your seed in the morning, and do not be idle in the evening, for you do not know whether morning or evening sowing will succeed, or whether both of them alike will be good.

Eccl 11:7  The light is pleasant, and it is good for the eyes to see the sun.

Eccl 11:8  Indeed, if a man should live many years, let him rejoice in them all, and let him remember the days of darkness, for they shall be many. Everything that is to come will be futility.

Eccl 11:9  Rejoice, young man, during your childhood, and let your heart be pleasant during the days of young manhood. And follow the impulses of your heart and the desires of your eyes. Yet know that God will bring you to judgment for all these things.

Eccl 11:10  So, remove vexation from your heart and put away pain from your body, because childhood and the prime of life are fleeting.

Eccl 12:1  Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near when you will say, “I have no delight in them”;

New Testament Scripture Reading: 1 John 2:15 – 29  (NASB)
1 John 2:15  Do not love the world, nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1 John 2:16  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.

1 John 2:17  And the world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God abides forever.

1 John 2:18  Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have arisen; from this we know that it is the last hour.

1 John 2:19  They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, in order that it might be shown that they all are not of us.

1 John 2:20  But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know.

1 John 2:21  I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it, and because no lie is of the truth.

1 John 2:22  Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.

1 John 2:23  Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also.

1 John 2:24  As for you, let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father.

1 John 2:25  And this is the promise which He Himself made to us: eternal life.

1 John 2:26  These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you.

1 John 2:27  And as for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.

1 John 2:28  And now, little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not shrink away from Him in shame at His coming.

1 John 2:29  If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness is born of Him.
