The Perfect Gift of Christ

The practice of a ‘Christmas celebration’ by the world today with all it’s materialism without any acknowledgement of Jesus The Messiah, creates a great deal of difficulty in the lives of those who do not have a biblical understanding of jest what God sending His Son to save sinners is all about. In honor of this greatest of all events, Pastor Fisher has prepared a special topical message defining the true heart of the Christmas celebration and explaining what this means for all believers and the reasons why we should celebrate the season joyfully and thankfully rather than being pressured by materialism caused by a worldly view of the holiday. So, grab a bible and listen as Straight Gate Ministries presents on teachingbible.org the message called: “The Perfect Gift of Christ ”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Isaiah 9:6 – 8  (KJV)
Isa 9:6  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Isa 9:7  Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
Isa 9:8  The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.
New Testament Scripture Reading: Hebrews 1:1 – 2:1  (NASB)
Heb 1:1  God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways,
Heb 1:2  in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.
Heb 1:3  And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Heb 1:4  having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they.
Heb 1:5  For to which of the angels did He ever say, “THOU ART MY SON, TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN THEE”? And again, “I WILL BE A FATHER TO HIM AND HE SHALL BE A SON TO ME”?
Heb 1:6  And when He again brings the first-born into the world, He says, “AND LET ALL THE ANGELS OF GOD WORSHIP HIM.”
Heb 1:7  And of the angels He says, “WHO MAKES HIS ANGELS WINDS, AND HIS MINISTERS A FLAME OF FIRE.”
Heb 1:8  But of the Son He says, “THY THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER, AND THE RIGHTEOUS SCEPTER IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM.
Heb 1:9  “THOU HAST LOVED RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HATED LAWLESSNESS; THEREFORE GOD, THY GOD, HATH ANOINTED THEE WITH THE OIL OF GLADNESS ABOVE THY COMPANIONS.”
Heb 1:10  And, “THOU, LORD, IN THE BEGINNING DIDST LAY THE FOUNDATION OF THE EARTH, AND THE HEAVENS ARE THE WORKS OF THY HANDS;
Heb 1:11  THEY WILL PERISH, BUT THOU REMAINEST; AND THEY ALL WILL BECOME OLD AS A GARMENT,
Heb 1:12  AND AS A MANTLE THOU WILT ROLL THEM UP; AS A GARMENT THEY WILL ALSO BE CHANGED. BUT THOU ART THE SAME, AND THY YEARS WILL NOT COME TO AN END.”
Heb 1:13  But to which of the angels has He ever said, “SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, UNTIL I MAKE THINE ENEMIES A FOOTSTOOL FOR THY FEET”?
Heb 1:14  Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?
Heb 2:1  For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.
Transforming Power Statements:
#1) As the world presses the real meaning of the Christmas celebration farther and farther into a materialistic one and a more godless one, let us always remember that it is truly about God sending us His best for our benefit and that Christmas is His idea meant to grant peace and reconciliation in them who believe Him.

#2) The prophecies of this coming gift are many and God was giving them so that there could be hope even before Jesus was manifested in the flesh according to the Law and the Prophets through His chosen people, Israel.

#3) Plan on rejoicing in God’s great love and compassion for those who had no means to be free from the penalty of sin on their own and know that God never desires to render the judgment of hell to any one who is willing to believe the truth concerning His Son Jesus, who is the perfect gift from God who makes all who trust in Him right in God’s site.
