The Mystery Of Iniquity

Today’s message is the ninth in our series on the mysteries of the Church Age. Today we shall learn another spiritual revelation from the eternal objective voice of the Bible, about the fact that God has allowed fallen mankind to continue, even though the realities of sin and death have never ceased even from the days of Adam. It may appear that evil is out of control; but is there some other reason for negative things in this world? Let us examine from the Holy Scriptures another secret from God (known as a spiritual mystery) through the Apostle Paul’s second letter to the Church of the Thessalonians for our message today known as “The Mystery Of Iniquity”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 29:24 – 29 (KJV)

Deu 29:24  Even all nations shall say, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger?

Deu 29:25  Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt:

Deu 29:26  For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them:

Deu 29:27  And the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book:

Deu 29:28  And the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.

Deu 29:29  The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

New Testament Scripture Reading:  2 Thessalonians 2:1 – 7 (KJV)

2Th 2:1  Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2Th 2:2  That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

2Th 2:3  Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

2Th 2:4  Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

2Th 2:5  Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

2Th 2:6  And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

2Th 2:7  For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

Transforming Power Facts:

1) Throughout the ages of mankind one of the greatest questions of people has been: “Why does a Holy God allow suffering, death, and wickedness to exist?”; which is a great mystery to most people in life, and we can only look to the Bible, God’s Holy and inerrant Word to understand this topic, which is one of the great mysteries of all time, which God reveals to the ones who believe in Him through Faith in His Only Begotten Son, Jesus The Christ!

2) After God had separated a people to Himself, for His Own possession, and had given them His Word in writing through Moses, He also disclosed that His Law was holy and beneficial for everyone who willingly chose to obey it, but also, that there were some “secret things” that He Alone knew, that would require His Spirit to navigate through for the ones who personally elected to follow His teaching by faith!

3) The New Testament teaches the fullness of  how the course of sin will ultimately lead to an arrogant character known as ” The Man Of Sin” who is an evil leader also called the “Anti-Christ” who will take the lead in pressing all people who fail to be led by the Holy Spirit and the Perfect Word of the living God which has been preached to the world; that is The Gospel Of JESUS CHRIST as the ONLY acceptable means of making anyone right with God, Who also will supply HIS HOLY SPIRIT, to each believer, Who will reveal the “Secret Things of the Spirit Of God” to guide them out of sin and into righteousness!
