The Expression Of God’s Love

During the history of the world, God has chosen to give mankind a general freedom to be sovereign but the fall of man caused by the sin of Adam, caused a movement against God’s love and produced rebellion against God’s authority. Today’s lesson will help us to see that even though all of mankind has sinned, God has provided His grace as “The Expression Of God’s Love”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Psalms 106:1 – 4 (KJV)

Psa 106:1  Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Psa 106:2  Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? who can show forth all his praise?

Psa 106:3  Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.

Psa 106:4  Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;

New Testament Scripture Reading: Mark 6:46 – 51 (KJV)

Mark 6:46  And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.

Mark 6:47  And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.

Mark 6:48  And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.

Mark 6:49  But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:

Mark 6:50  For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.

Mark 6:51  And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) The Psalmist recognizes that God is full of mercy and has chosen to afford the believer with Mercies beyond measure rather than giving us what we really deserve, this is called grace, for which God alone deserves praise!

2) When Jesus was training His twelve disciples, He tested their faith in many ways to train them to understand that He was able to do ANYTHING, even that which seemed to them to be impossible in order for them to know that He had come so that they could learn to trust in God as their personal Savior!

3) Jesus Christ Himself is the fullest expression of God’s grace and love, because He came to demonstrate the power of God, but also He is the personification of the Love of God, and the power of God over all sin for everyone who trusts in HIM ALONE for their personal Salvation!
