The Bible Making Sense Out Of Nonsense

print
In last week’s message, “God’s Word The Truth That Makes Us Free” we learned that the content of the Bible alone has the power (when energized by God the Holy Spirit) to produce “redeemed qualities” in the baptized believer in a supernatural way, that can only be applied through discipleship as Jesus taught. This discipleship produces the growth in each believer that is the reason “The Bible Makes Sense Out Of Nonsense”.

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Ecclesiastes 1:12 – 18 (KJV)

Ecc 1:12  I the Preacher was king over Israel in Jerusalem.

Ecc 1:13  And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith.

Ecc 1:14  I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.

Ecc 1:15  That which is crooked cannot be made straight: and that which is wanting cannot be numbered.

Ecc 1:16  I communed with mine own heart, saying, Lo, I am come to great estate, and have gotten more wisdom than all they that have been before me in Jerusalem: yea, my heart had great experience of wisdom and knowledge.

Ecc 1:17  And I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit.

Ecc 1:18  For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.

New Testament Scripture Reading:  Ephesians 3:1 – 12 (NASB)

Eph 3:1  For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles–

Eph 3:2  if indeed you have heard of the stewardship of God’s grace which was given to me for you;

Eph 3:3  that by revelation there was made known to me the mystery, as I wrote before in brief.

Eph 3:4  By referring to this, when you read you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ,

Eph 3:5  which in other generations was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit;

Eph 3:6  to be specific, that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel,

Eph 3:7  of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of God’s grace which was given to me according to the working of His power.

Eph 3:8  To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ,

Eph 3:9  and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things;

Eph 3:10  so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places.

Eph 3:11  This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord,

Eph 3:12  in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him.

Spiritual Goals For This Message:

  1. Escalate our understanding of the mystery of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, so that we can become more dedicated to understanding what the Spirit is saying to us individually and to the world and the Church!
  2. Development of prayer routine consistent with the reality of God’s purposes in this life individually and for the Church.
  3. Realize that God has a higher purpose and plan for all who believe in Him and learn to walk by faith and not by sight!
