The Anatomy of SinIn this message, Pastor: Landis breaks down the components of sin to expose the roots of it’s existence and offers a biblical treatment to teach us how to attain victory over it and to have peace in the process of this ever present obstacle in the pursuit of righteousness and truth. This is a must hear message!

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Psalms 14:1 – 7  (NASB)
Psa 14:1  (For the choir director. A Psalm of David.) The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds; There is no one who does good.
Psa 14:2  The LORD has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men, To see if there are any who understand, Who seek after God.
Psa 14:3  They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; There is no one who does good, not even one.
Psa 14:4  Do all the workers of wickedness not know, Who eat up my people as they eat bread, And do not call upon the LORD?
Psa 14:5  There they are in great dread, For God is with the righteous generation.
Psa 14:6  You would put to shame the counsel of the afflicted, But the LORD is his refuge.

Psa 14:7  Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When the LORD restores His captive people, Jacob will rejoice, Israel will be glad.

New Testament Scripture Reading: James 1:12 – 18  (NASB)
James 1:12  Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
James 1:13  Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.
James 1:14  But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.
James 1:15  Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.
James 1:16  Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.
James 1:17  Every good thing bestowed and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation, or shifting shadow.
James 1:18  In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the word of truth, so that we might be, as it were, the first fruits among His creatures.
Transforming Power Statements:
#1) No one has an advantage in the sight of God with respect to sin, since there is no one any where who can honestly say: “I have no sin” nor “I have not sinned”; for every human being born of Adam has a form of the very same moral defect and is need of Salvation and Continual Cleansing.

#2) The only source of Salvation and Moral Cleansing that is acceptable to God, is that which He provides through His Son Jesus The Messiah, which He has made available in the “sight of all people” leaving every rejecter without excuse.

#3) It is God’s good pleasure to extend Salvation and the possibility of Perfect Moral Cleansing to those who believe in His Son. Therefore we must come to understand how important our relationship with God is through Christ, and also how important our relationships with each other are since we have become Sisters & Brothers by faith in Him.
