Succeeding In Spite Of Truth Decay

Succeeding In Spite Of Truth DecayWhy is there so much controversy and misunderstanding in the world? Even within the so called “Churches of God”? Why is it so easy for people to be misled? How can a person know if they are being “misled”?  If there is so much confusion, Just who is responsible for it all? Well listen in to todays message as Pastor Landis Fisher speaks from the Word on this most vital topic from the pulpit of the Dickerson Memorial Community Church where he presently serves as an Assistant Pastor, to a message he has titled: “Succeeding In Spite of Truth Decay”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 4:1 – 9  (KJV)
Deu 4:1  Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.

Deu 4:2  Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

Deu 4:3  Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baalpeor: for all the men that followed Baalpeor, the LORD thy God hath destroyed them from among you.

Deu 4:4  But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God are alive every one of you this day.

Deu 4:5  Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.

Deu 4:6  Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

Deu 4:7  For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for?

Deu 4:8  And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

Deu 4:9  Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons’ sons;

New Testament Scripture Reading: Matthew 15:1 – 20  (KJV)
Mat 15:1  Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,

Mat 15:2  Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.

Mat 15:3  But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

Mat 15:4  For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.

Mat 15:5  But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;

Mat 15:6  And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.

Mat 15:7  Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,

Mat 15:8  This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

Mat 15:9  But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Mat 15:10  And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:

Mat 15:11  Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

Mat 15:12  Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?

Mat 15:13  But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.

Mat 15:14  Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

Mat 15:15  Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable.

Mat 15:16  And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?

Mat 15:17  Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?

Mat 15:18  But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

Mat 15:19  For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

Mat 15:20  These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) Because of the curse of sin, caused by the fall of Adam, all human

beings have a tendency to operate against the truth, and are proned to

create “fig leaves of self-righteousness” as a covering (atonement)

for themselves; rather than developing the discipline required to

learn and know the truth which is the Word of God (The Bible).

2) There are many reasons why there are a myriad of inadequate of even

false teachers, even in the visible Church; a few reasons are:
1)Ignorance of the rightly divided Word of Truth caused by

insufficient training, laziness, personal adgendas rather than God’s

adgenda,
2) Lowering of God’s standards as written in the Word,
3) Tradition being given a higher place or authority than the Bible,

4) Forsaking the execution of the Biblical directives for the “sake of
‘peace’ (Tolerance)
5) To summarise; Truth decay is always at work against God in that it

is power by the world the flesh and the devil; evil forces that God is

allowing to manifest the difference between His people and those of

the deceiver. (satan)

3) The true people of God receive the true teachersof God: and reap

the results that God has ordained.
