Today’s message teaches what Jesus came to finish, so that His Church could continue sending out the message of His great love and mercy to a fallen world who so desperately needs answers to the many issues in the world which militate against love and decency. The Word of God is a complete and final revelation of everything God requires and therefore, does not need to be redacted, edited, nor rejected; but the duty of the Church is “Staying On Course”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Joshua 1:5 – 9 (KJV)

Jos 1:5  There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Jos 1:6  Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

Jos 1:7  Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.

Jos 1:8  This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Jos 1:9  Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

New Testament Scripture Reading:  2Timothy 4:1 – 4 (KJV)

2Ti 4:1  I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

2Ti 4:2  Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

2Ti 4:3  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

2Ti 4:4  And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Transforming Power Facts:

1) God had predetermined to separate a people for His own possession, in order to provide the world with a perfect Savior, Whom He planned delivery of this marvelous promise to the World, in spite of the failures, even of the Covenant people, which would be accomplished through dedicated leadership, teaching, and implementation of God’s Word, as He instructed and charged Joshua, after the death of Moses.

2) As we see the present world following a most destructive problematic course, which has also been precisely predicted in the Bible, even more so, the Church must not only discipline herself to be diligent to also understand the times, but to remain within the prescribed manual which has now been fully completed through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the final revelation  from God His Father.

3) Paul’s final letter to Timothy (and us by extension) admonishes us in like manner as God did to Joshua, to Preach the Word, and avoid myths, fables, and other ungodly suppositions being propagated by our three major enemies the world the flesh and the devil, while having the understanding that we all have been lost too, and therefore, we must be adamant about the truth, yet merciful to the lost as we preach the Word!
