Sharing The Love Of Jesus Christ

print

In last week’s message “Repairing News”, we learned that the Word of God offers news that repairs us in every way that we need to be fixed! Since this is true, it is actually too good to be kept to ourselves; but rather it is so good that all believers must also learn that we are to be “Sharing The Love Of Jesus Christ” which is the mission of the Church!

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Nahum 1:15 NASB Isaiah 52:7 – 10 NASB

Nah 1:15  Behold, on the mountains the feet of him who brings good news, Who announces peace! Celebrate your feasts, O Judah; Pay your vows. For never again will the wicked one pass through you; He is cut off completely.

Isaiah 52:7 – 10

Isa 52:7  How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

Isa 52:8  Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.

Isa 52:9  Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.

Isa 52:10  The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

New Testament Scripture Reading: 1Thessalonians 1:5 – 10 NASB

1Th 1:5  for our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction; just as you know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake.

1Th 1:6  You also became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much tribulation with the joy of the Holy Spirit,

1Th 1:7  so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.

1Th 1:8  For the word of the Lord has sounded forth from you, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God has gone forth, so that we have no need to say anything.

1Th 1:9  For they themselves report about us what kind of a reception we had with you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God,

1Th 1:10  and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come.

Main Points To Emphasize:

1) The OT Prophets Isaiah and Nahum forecasted a time when the Covent People (Israel) would have good news brought to them rather than a word of God coming from them, because they rejected Jesus God’s Only begotten Son (as it was written) when He arrived for providing Salvation for the Jews first; and then to the Gentiles.

2) The Bible which is the inspired Word Of God, is the best place on Earth to be able to see and understand the world as it is now and also to be able to know how much God really loves us!

3) In like manner now that the door of salvation has been opened to the Gentiles through Jesus Christ, we who are saved now have to privilege and responsibility to always be Sharing The Love Of Jesus Christ with whosoever will lend them their ear!
