Setting Your Mind on the Promised Victory

Setting Your Mind on the Promised VictoryGreetings to all in the Name of Christ Jesus,

Is life troubling, difficult and even down right mean to you at times? Are there days when you examine the difficulties in life and sit back and wonder if any of it makes sense, and is it really worth enduring all the madness? If you have thought such things, believe me you are not alone. We at Straight Gate Ministries have had numerous contacts who have requested us to pray for a variety of ill things in this life that only God can help with. In today’s message, Pastor Teacher Landis Fisher is delivering a teaching that is designed to empower you to not only cope with the evils and quirks of this life, but also to deeply encourage you to dig in much deeper and hold out for the great blessing that God has laid up for all who come believing the Gospel of His perfect Son, Jesus, in a message he has titled: “Setting Your Minds on the Promised Victory”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Isaiah 54:13 – 17  (KJV)
Isa 54:13  And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.
Isa 54:14  In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.
Isa 54:15  Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.
Isa 54:16  Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.
Isa 54:17  No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
New Testament Scripture Reading: Colosians 3:1 – 7  (KJV)
Col 3:1  If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Col 3:2  Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Col 3:3  For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Col 3:4  When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Col 3:5  Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
Col 3:6  For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
Col 3:7  In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
Transforming Power Statements:

1) Everything in our lives are affected by the place where our minds are set; our state of mind determines how we process every reality we are dealing with on a daily basis.

2) Only those who are in a state of peace with God via the Gospel of Jesus Christ are able to consciously pursue the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, which are foolishness to them who are perishing.

3) The promise of God to teach all them who are “Justified by Faith” is the Victory to everyone who believes; and must be cultivated through study of the Word, intimate and fervent prayer to the Father; Communion with God and His church via the Sacraments of the LORD’s Supper, and Water Baptism.

Therefore, the mindset of a Christian must be focused on the promised victory and not on the fleeting empty things of this life.
