In our previous message “Equipping Ourselves For The Battle” We learned some of the spiritual tools that we have to be able to walk in the love and grace that was displayed by our Savior Jesus Christ, during His first coming. In our lesson today let us examine the driving force that made it possible for every believer in the Gospel of Jesus Christ to learn “The Superiority Of Love” , which shall persevere over all negative things!

Old Testament Scripture Reading Hosea 3:1 – 5 (KJV)

Hos 3:1 Then said the LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.

Hos 3:2 So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley:

Hos 3:3 And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for another man: so will I also be for thee.

Hos 3:4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim:

Hos 3:5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.

New Testament Scripture Reading: Ephesians 3:14 – 21 (KJV)

Eph 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Eph 3:15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

Eph 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

Eph 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

Eph 3:18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

Eph 3:19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Eph 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Eph 3:21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Transforming Power Statements / Special Scripture Notes:
1) God’s love tolerated the disobedience of the devil, and Adam from the beginning, and all the successive sinners from then until now, because God had already planned to give Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son to satisfy His wrath against all sin; however, this does mean that every sinner is automatically forgiven; but only the ones who believe God.

2) The children of Israel were the chosen people through whom God was sending His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ of the seed of Abraham, and the seed of David; Who is God’s greatest expression of Love for all people; who are seen in Hosea as an unfaithful, adulterous wife, whom he redeemed for fifteen pieces of silver and a homer and a half of barley from off the slave block.

3) In Ephesians the Apostle Paul (who like national Israel) was a hardcore unbeliever in Jesus Christ) expresses the mystery of Christ Jesus, and the immeasurable love God) revealed through His crucified, buried and risen Son Jesus, The Superiority Of Love, which passes all understanding!
