Insatiable Escalating Power To Live
In our last lesson called “Jesus Said I Am He” we learned that during the ministry of Jesus as He taught His disciples; He applied the Holy Name of God His Father to Himself frequently indicating Who Messiah was in essence; that is “Equal With The Father” as it was written. In our meditation for this Passover / Resurrection Sunday let us consider that Faith In Jesus Christ’s resurrection grants each believer “Insatiable Escalating Power To Live”
Old Testament Scripture Reading Deuteronomy 21:22 – 23 (KJV)
Deu 21:22 And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree:
Deu 21:23 His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
New Testament Scripture Reading Mark 16:9-16 (KJV)
Mar 16:9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.
Mar 16:10 And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.
Mar 16:11 And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.
Mar 16:12 After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country.
Mar 16:13 And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them.
Mar 16:14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.
Mar 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Transforming Power Statements:
1) The Book Of The Law stated that being “hanged on a tree” was indicative that an individual who was thought to be worthy of having committed a sin worthy of death was cursed by God, and that the body of anyone that was done this way, should not remain on the tree overnight, so that no curse would be brought upon the land.
2) Because Jesus is God’s Only Begotten Son, it had been written that He would be wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, chastised for our peace, and that by His stripes we are healed; and knowing that Jesus did this ; not for Himself; but for everyone who believes In Him; The believers In Jesus Christ can rest assured that since God did all this to save us, that He will continue providing whatever else that we need to grant us power to live the abundant life!
3) Trusting in the resurrection of Jesus Christ provides an inexhaustible supply of God’s Love for the believer, to come to know more and more each day that God has made available His ever increasing power to us who believe in His risen Son, Jesus Christ Who is The King Of Kings!
