God’s Word Vs Everything Else
God The Son Came To Defeat The Powers Of Darkness And Secure The Future For Israel And All Mankind Who Believe In HIM!
In our previous message; “Fighting A Winning Battle” we explored the means to live a victorious life through a healthy spiritual relationship with God via His Son Jesus, The Holy Spirit and The Church. Today, let us consider how we all work together to improve each other through fellowship and spiritual accountability. ; through a relationship with God The Son Jesus Christ as we learn the root means to how this can actually be accomplished as we give priority to “God’s Word Vs Everything Else”!
Old Testament Scripture Reading Deuteronomy 4:1 – 10 (KJV)
Deu 4:1 Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.
Deu 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
Deu 4:3 Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baalpeor: for all the men that followed Baalpeor, the LORD thy God hath destroyed them from among you.
Deu 4:4 But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God are alive every one of you this day.
Deu 4:5 Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.
Deu 4:6 Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.
Deu 4:7 For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for?
Deu 4:8 And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?
Deu 4:9 Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons’ sons;
Deu 4:10 Specially the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.
New Testament Scripture Reading Titus 2:11 – 15 (KJV)
Tit 2:11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,
Tit 2:12 instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age,
Tit 2:13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,
Tit 2:14 who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.
Tit 2:15 These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one disregard you.
Transforming Power Statements:
1) It was the teaching of The Word of God that caused the children of Israel to be different than all other people who existed in the days of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; which we learn through Moses wrote under the guidance of the Holy Spirit in the book of the Law, which prompted Israel to be a peculiar people, as compared to the Gentiles that were all around them.
2) Even more so, and in the same way, it is the Church, whom God has redeemed with the blood of Jesus Christ His Only Begotten Son, who also must discipline herself to cultivate purity, and separation and distinction from the works and ways of the fallen world.
3) God has taken a stand for everyone who believes in the resurrection His Son Jesus Christ, who have repented of their sins, and have been baptized, and filled with the Holy Spirit; and are now learning to denounce their attachments to their former ways of living, with the on-board assistance of God The Holy Spirit, and through the fellowship of the Church, who are the people who continue in His Word, and are His disciples indeed! (John 8:12-59 explains in more detail about how this spiritual phenomenon works)
