Happy Mother’s Day to all our beautiful Mothers! Today’s message is a special tribute to the celebration of the realities of Motherhood, which are one of God’s most effective and special relationships for all mankind, and was meant to bring about an earthly sense of His Love!
Old Testament Scripture Reading: Exodus 20:11 – 12 (KJV)
Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Exo 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
New Testament Scripture Reading: 1Peter 3:5 – 6 (KJV)
1Pe 3:5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
1Pe 3:6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazemen
Transforming Power Statements:
1) Next to our relationship with God, our most human relationship is with our parents, and even more specifically; there is an even more special relationship that all human beings experience with their mother; who bares us during the prenatal state.
2) There are a few things that all human beings have in common, one of which is that we all have a mother, with whom we had a special relationship during our prenatal state, that makes this relationship more special than any other in this life; which I believe makes the maternal relationship one of extreme closeness like no other.
3) The Apostle Peter reveals that we also have spiritual children, and a spiritual new birth, which produce spiritual children, who also need nurturing in order to bring the believer to higher more God-like state, which also produces escalating righteousness in the life of those who are :born again to a newness of life.
