New Testament Scripture Reading: 1 John 2:26 – 29 (NASB)
1 John 2:26 These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you.
1 John 2:27 And as for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.1
John 2:28 And now, little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not shrink away from Him in shame at His coming.
1 John 2:29 If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness is born of Him.
Transforming Power Statements:
#1) The greatest area of deceit from the world, the flesh and the devil, is concerning the deity of Jesus The Son of God that is the fact that He is equal with God.
#2) God’s anointing with His Holy Spirit of each and every true believer of His gospel of Jesus Christ, His Son, is the seal of their salvation as God promised by His “New Covenant” to give freely to all trusting in Messiah Jesus as Savior and LORD, and provides the teaching, guidance, and conviction needed for progress in the Christian walk.
#3) The practice of righteousness is the proof of the new birth, and guards against guilt in the present and shame in the future at Jesus second coming.
