Sanctified To Be Modified

Now that we have arrived at the half-way point of this year, we have been learning what and how we are being sanctified through a saving relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ, in the second half we will come to understand the purpose of this relationship, which is to be “Sanctified To Be Modified”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Psalms 119:9 – 16 (KJV)

Psa 119:9  BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

Psa 119:10  With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.

Psa 119:11  Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Psa 119:12  Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.

Psa 119:13  With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.

Psa 119:14  I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.

Psa 119:15  I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.

Psa 119:16  I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

New Testament Scripture Reading: James 1:2 – 8 (KJV)

Jas 1:2  My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

Jas 1:3  Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

Jas 1:4  But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Jas 1:5  If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Jas 1:6  But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Jas 1:7  For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

Jas 1:8  A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Transforming Spiritual Questions:

1) Have I made a realistic evaluation of where I am spiritually according to God’s Word so that I know where I need and what I need to ask God for?

2) Do I have a higher standard for others than I do for myself?

3) Have I decided to change my direction from trying to do things my way to doing them His way?

4) Have I trusted in the crucified, buried, and risen Jesus Christ entirely for the salvation of MY soul?
