Realizing The Reign of Righteousness

Greetings and welcome to all present and online, in America and abroad. Today, as we continue our study in Paul’s letter to the Romans,  as we conclude the fifth chapter, we shall continue our examination of the great doctrine of justification by faith and consider the global implications of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Last Lord’s Day, we learned about how all human beings are affected by Adam and By Christ Jesus either negatively or positively and how the Gospel is therefore to be preached in all the earth to all peoples. Today Pastor Landis Fisher shall conclude the fifth chapter in a message he calls: “Realizing the Reign of Righteousness”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Hosea 13:12 – 15  (NASB)
Hosea 13:12  The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; His sin is stored up.
Hosea 13:13  The pains of childbirth come upon him; He is not a wise son, For it is not the time that he should delay at the opening of the womb.
Hosea 13:14  Shall I ransom them from the power of Sheol? Shall I redeem them from death? O Death, where are your thorns? O Sheol, where is your sting? Compassion will be hidden from My sight.
Hosea 13:15  Though he flourishes among the reeds, An east wind will come, The wind of the LORD coming up from the wilderness; And his fountain will become dry, And his spring will be dried up; It will plunder his treasury of every precious article.
New Testament Scripture Reading: Romans 5:19 – 21  (NASB)
Rom 5:19  For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.
Rom 5:20  And the Law came in that the transgression might increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,
Rom 5:21  that, as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Transforming Power Statements:
#1) What could never be done by man at any time was done by Jesus Christ once and for all who believe, that is to satisfy God by righteousness.
#2) God’s quest for mankind, since He loved them, was to give them that which He required and that which they could not ever produce as a means of a “Free Gift”.
#3) Only through Jesus Christ is it possible for righteousness to reign which is greater than the reign of death that still exists from Adam to present for all who do not receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
