Prospering in Godly Families in the Midst of a Fallen Culture

Our current message series on Marriage and Family from our Pastor Teacher, Landis Fisher, has been focusing on some of the spiritual aspects of life for the ones who are a part of the family of God, meaning that they have believed God through His Only begotten Son Jesus the Christ and therefore, have been born again ( from above) and are now classified within God’s family by adoption. People in this status have been made to be different from the others in the world who have not come to trust Jesus as Savior. Listen to today’s installment which instructs us in the way of “Prospering in Godly Families in the Midst of a Fallen Culture”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Proverbs 8:32 – 36  (KJV)
Pro 8:32  Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.
Pro 8:33  Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
Pro 8:34  Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
Pro 8:35  For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.
Pro 8:36  But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
New Testament Scripture Reading: John 15:11 – 23  (KJV)

Joh 15:11  These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
Joh 15:12  This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Joh 15:13  Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Joh 15:14  Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
Joh 15:15  Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
Joh 15:16  Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
Joh 15:17  These things I command you, that ye love one another.
Joh 15:18  If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
Joh 15:19  If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
Joh 15:20  Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
Joh 15:21  But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.
Joh 15:22  If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.
Joh 15:23  He that hateth me hateth my Father also.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) Even though it is clear that God loves everyone and has clearly communicated His love to all people, from the viewpoint of the unbelieving world the people of God are hated because they are not understood properly and therefore, must learn to cope with this new status acquired by faith in the truth.
2) It is wise to believe God according to what He has revealed about Himself, rather than creating Him to be how we want Him to be; and producing a false god of our own design which is idolatry.
3) Jesus taught a lot about understanding the hatred against the truth and being misunderstood as being a part of His family who walk in true love while the world of people who do not believe act against believers solely because of their fallen nature.
