Are there certain dietary restrictions that are pertinent to observe for our salvation? How should a Christian deal with the Older Testament dietary laws or even any of the others? Do they apply to the Church as they did to Israel? Is there a correct way to understand the Bible in general in regard to Old vs. New Testament teaching? Well to learn answers for these intriguing questions, listen in as Pastor Fisher teaches a lesson called: “Perfected Revelation”
Old Testament Scripture Reading: Isaiah 28:9 – 16 (KJV)
Isa 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
Isa 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
Isa 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
Isa 28:12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
Isa 28:13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
Isa 28:14 Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.
Isa 28:15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:
Isa 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
New Testament Scripture Reading: Mark 7:16 – 23 (KJV)
Mark 7:16 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. Mark 7:17 And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable. Mark 7:18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him; Mark 7:19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats? Mark 7:20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. Mark 7:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Mark 7:22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: Mark 7:23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
Transforming Power Statements:
#1) It has been said that the Old Testament was the New Testament concealed; and the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed. This is why we should trust the teaching of the New as the interpretation of the Old.
#2) The original position of what God intended for man was usually embellished and therefore perverted, because in most cases, sinful men who through their desire to justify themselves rather than being justified by God as a gift of His grace, twisted God’s intention to be an item that they could achieve by their own works.
#3) Jesus established the Apostles as teachers of the Perfected Revelation of God’s Word to provide Holy Spirit guided teaching to correct previous perversions that had been introduced by religionists of Judaism who had perverted the Law and the Prophets to be a works righteousness system just like all other human religions that are in the world in which there is NO SALVATION!
