Old Testament Scripture Reading: Psalms 103:1 – 4 (KJV)

Psa 103:1  Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

Psa 103:2  Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

Psa 103:3  Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

Psa 103:4  Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

New Testament Scripture Reading: Hebrews 4:10 – 12 (KJV)

Heb 4:10  For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

Heb 4:11  Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Heb 4:12  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) Discipleship is the primary vehicle by which God has chosen to administer nurturing and wholesome development to the ones who believe in Him; which are the same ones who in return for the receipt of the abundance of grace and mercy offered by God are adjusted in their way of thinking into His way of thinking.

2) The Psalmist David knew that fellowship with God was the key to having a life of dedication and devotion to God and through the training of all areas of the soul to include God so that his soul was vividly aware of the presence of God which promoted his love and appreciation of God, and was the pervasive manner of his soul.

3) It is the Word of God alone that assists in the separation of the soul and spirit working as a two-edged sword to provide clarity of understanding even if it takes a while to digest the glory of the magnitude of who we are becoming as we learn of the ways of God unto a true state of confidence.
