New Life in Christ

As we begin a new year, our Pastor Teacher, Landis Fisher has prepared a message of encouragement and explanation of the life in Christ, which is available by the mighty hand of God to all who believe the age old message of God who has made it known in all the earth! Listen in today as our Pastor teaches this message which he has titled: “New Life in Christ”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Psalms 98:1 – 6  (KJV)

Psa 98:1  A Psalm. O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.
Psa 98:2  The LORD hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.
Psa 98:3  He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
Psa 98:4  Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.
Psa 98:5  Sing unto the LORD with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.
Psa 98:6  With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King.

New Testament Scripture Reading: Ephesians 4:17 – 24  (KJV)

Eph 4:17  This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
Eph 4:18  Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
Eph 4:19  Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
Eph 4:20  But ye have not so learned Christ;
Eph 4:21  If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
Eph 4:22  That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
Eph 4:23  And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
Eph 4:24  And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) God has always wanted everyone to know that He loves them and has provided a way for them to be saved from their fallen state which has been caused by the fall of Adam and is inherited by birth to everyone; but He has made a way for all to be redeemed, which has always been by faith.

2) One major feature of the knowledge of salvation by God’s grace is praise, and with that comes also a new way of seeing the world, life and the human condition with it’s mixed situations being caused by the existence of the lost right alongside the saved.

3) All who come to understand God’s intense love for them, which He displayed openly by the giving of Jesus His Son on the cross as a full payment for the sins of each one who believes, become not only ones who praise God for His marvelous works, but also devote themselves to this new way of living within God’s chosen family, the Church, which has power to persevere even over the gates of hell!
