Happy Mother’s Day! This is a Tribute To Mothers everywhere!

Without motherhood there could be no: a) Humanity b) Gospel c) Salvation

Yes James Brown said: “This Is A Man’s World” but also he had sense enough to add: “But it wouldn’t be nothing without a woman and a girl”

More importantly: The Bible teaches us an even more profound reality concerning Mothers and even the profound aspect that made it possible for the incarnation of God the Son, that is Jesus the Christ!

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Genesis 2:24-25 and 3:20 – 24

Gen 2:24  For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.

Gen 2:25  And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.

Gen 3:20  Now the man called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all the living.

Gen 3:21  The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them.

Gen 3:22  Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”–

Gen 3:23  therefore the LORD God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken.

Gen 3:24  So He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life.

New Testament Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 11:1 – 4 (NASB)

2Co 11:1  I wish that you would bear with me in a little foolishness; but indeed you are bearing with me.

2Co 11:2  For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy; for I betrothed you to one husband, so that to Christ I might present you as a pure virgin.

2Co 11:3  But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.

2Co 11:4  For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you bear this beautifully.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) Adam prophesied the first usage of the word “Mother” in Genesis 2:24 , for which there had never been a “mother” as of yet, but would become the means by which all human beings would be produced through the natural affections of man and woman, and through divine intervention of Almighty God, thus the concept of “Procreation”.

2) In Genesis 3:20 Adam ascribes the name Eve to his wife because she is the “Mother of all living”; which is a term that is true not only in a “physical sense” but also in a “Spiritual sense” because of the way God designed the woman’s anatomy where there is no sharing of the bloodstream of the mother with the child in the womb, but the baby makes its own blood which originates from the father!

3) In summary, this also explains how God was doing more than giving a solution for the first thing in Holy Scripture that was “not good” (Genesis 2:18 Gen 2:18  And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. ) but was also making a way for the incarnation of Jesus The Messiah, His Only Begotten Son to be able to born without the sin of Adam so that the Gospel could be manifested as the only means of salvation to anyone who believes in Jesus out of all mankind as the Apostle Paul speaks of metaphorically with the Church at Corinth, as being the bride of Christ; so that she would not be led astray as the serpent did Eve to receive “another gospel or another Jesus”!
