Old Testament Scripture Reading: (Job 14:10 – 14 KJV)

Job 14:10  But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?

Job 14:11  As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up:

Job 14:12  So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.

Job 14:13  O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!

Job 14:14  If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.

New Testament Scripture Reading: ( 1 Corinthians 15:50 – 58 KJV)

1Co 15:50  Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

1Co 15:51  Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

1Co 15:52  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

1Co 15:53  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

1Co 15:54  So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

1Co 15:55  O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

1Co 15:56  The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

1Co 15:57  But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1Co 15:58  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) As we consider Job, we can see that no matter how much difficulty we have to endure in this life, we are able to continue in praising God, because He keeps on giving us reasons to praise Him even when we have trouble to go through in our day to day lives; we must continue to realize that life is filled not only with swift transition but there is trouble on every side, but God is greater than all of it, and He LOVE’s us!

2) The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the greatest proof that God has provided for all mankind of His great love, because it is His desire that all people be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth; realizing that since death is the most painful thing we have to deal with in this life, the Victory of Jesus Christ His Only Begotten Son, is the greatest news there is!

3) The Apostle Paul explained the mystery to the Corinthians and stated that it should be the motivation for all believers to become steadfast, unmovable, and always abounding in the word and work of the LORD in everyday life even against the struggle of the enemies of God, who are ALL DEFEATED! forever!
