Making The Best Of The Day

print

The way we view and utilize our “day” determines our level of satisfaction in life. God created the system of day and night to make a pattern for us to enjoy HIM to the fullest! It was the enemies intention to disrupt this pattern and cause trouble, fear anxiety, pressure and even death!  Therefore, We would benefit the most by cultivating an understanding of how God has given us HIS WORD, which promises a coming “day” when everything evil will be made to yield to God’s original pattern of perfection, love, unity, peace, and everything good, all because of Jesus HIS SON so that we have a steadfast means of “Making The Best Of The Day”!

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Psalms 118:22 – 29 (KJV)

Psa 118:23  This is the LORD’S doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.

Psa 118:24  This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Psa 118:25  Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.

Psa 118:26  Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.

Psa 118:27  God is the LORD, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.

Psa 118:28  Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.

Psa 118:29  O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

New Testament Scripture Reading: Acts 17:22 – 32 (NKJV)

Act 17:22  Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious;

Act 17:23  for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you:

Act 17:24  God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands.

Act 17:25  Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things.

Act 17:26  And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings,

Act 17:27  so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;

Act 17:28  for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’

Act 17:29  Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising.

Act 17:30  Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,

Act 17:31  because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”

Act 17:32  And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said, “We will hear you again on this matter.”

Transforming Power Statements:

1) The Psalmist says that we must set forth a determined effort to rejoice and be glad in theis day that the LORD has made, this means that it requires a correct understanding of God’s WORD for us to correctly view each day, regardless of the evil effects that are caused by the enemies of God both spiritual and physical.

2) Everyday is another opportunity to learn more about how to love and appreciate GOD and  all that God has provided and how to love HIM over anything else, and love  our neighbors more than we did the day before (” as we love ourselves!”)

3) There is a “DAY” coming on God’s schedule that HE will judge the world, it is in our best interest that we utilize each and every “DAY” making these adjustments to how we are living to make preparation for that GREAT DAY!
