Maintaining A Sanctified Mindset

Last lesson was called: “Sanctified To Be Modified”. Today, let us dig a bit deeper into some of the obstacles that are caused by living in a fallen world. As we realize that we are on a mission to reach out to fallen humanity for the purpose of notifying them about the good news of Jesus Christ, yet while being in the flesh, we are sometimes tempted to flow with the people who ignore God’s Word, rather than remaining steadfast in God’s Word. Today’s lesson

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Psalms 119:17 – 24 (KJV)

Psa 119:17  GIMEL. Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word.

Psa 119:18  Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.

Psa 119:19  I am a stranger in the earth: hide not thy commandments from me.

Psa 119:20  My soul breaketh for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments at all times.

Psa 119:21  Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err from thy commandments.

Psa 119:22  Remove from me reproach and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies.

Psa 119:23  Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes.

Psa 119:24  Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors.

New Testament Scripture Reading: Hebrews 3:1 – 9 (KJV)

Heb 3:1  Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

Heb 3:2  Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.

Heb 3:3  For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.

Heb 3:4  For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.

Heb 3:5  And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;

Heb 3:6  But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

Heb 3:7  Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,

Heb 3:8  Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

Heb 3:9  When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.

Transforming Spiritual Questions:

1) Have I made a realistic evaluation of where I am spiritually according to God’s Word so that I know where I need and what I need to ask God for?

2) Do I have a higher standard for others than I do for myself?

3) Have I decided to change my direction from trying to do things my way to doing them His way?

4) Have I trusted in the crucified, buried, and risen Jesus Christ entirely for the salvation of MY soul?
