Keeping Unity Walking With Christ
What is it that makes the “Church” the “Church”? Are we as individuals doing what we should be doing to keep the Unity of the Spirit or is it possible that we might be working against the work of God by doing things with no regard to what the will of God is? Listen in today as our Pastor teacher, Landis Fisher delivers a crucial message on this vital topic which he has titled: “Keeping Unity Walking With Christ”

Amo 3:1 Hear this word that the LORD hath spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,

Amo 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

New Testament Scripture Reading: Ephesians 4:1 – 7 (KJV) |
|
Eph 4:1 Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called,
Eph 4:2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love,
Eph 4:3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Eph 4:4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling;
Eph 4:5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
Eph 4:6 one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.
Eph 4:7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift.

Transforming Power Statements:
1) Due to the presence of the evil power of the fallen sin nature, the people of God have always had conflict within the camp, both with God and with one another, which militates against the type of relationship God desires that His people display so as to be attractive to others who for any reason may not have yet come to God, even though God desires a working relationship with all.
2) Amos reveals that there must be a state of agreement between people otherwise they are not able to walk the same path approaching both mutual togetherness among themselves, nor a wholesome unity with God Who always is seeking to cultivate closeness with believers.
3) Unity is given by God when each person is given saving faith and must be maintained in order that God will be glorified, and the church edified, rather than discarding the proper actions and yielding to selfishness and a personal agenda and therefore working against the Spirit. |
