Hear Today Gone Tomorrow

September 11, 2011  A.D.

Hear Today Gone TomorrowOn this ten year anniversary of September eleventh, the infamous day when America was attacked by terrorists, our teacher, Pastor Landis Fisher has prepared a message that encourages the Saints of the LORD Jesus Christ to be aware of the signs of the times indicated by such things and to press on toward the mark for the high calling of God in Christ Jesus as we learn to number our days that we might apply our hearts unto wisdom in these last and evil days. Listen to this thought provoking message that he has called “Hear Today Gone Tomorrow”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Ezekiel 3:1 – 12  (KJV)
Ezek 3:1  Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.

Ezek 3:2  So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.

Ezek 3:3  And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

Ezek 3:4  And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.

Ezek 3:5  For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;

Ezek 3:6  Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.

Ezek 3:7  But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.

Ezek 3:8  Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.

Ezek 3:9  As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

Ezek 3:10  Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears.

Ezek 3:11  And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear.

Ezek 3:12  Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the LORD from his place.

New Testament Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 14:20 – 25  (KJV)
1 Cor 14:20  Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.

1 Cor 14:21  In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.

1 Cor 14:22  Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

1 Cor 14:23  If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?

1 Cor 14:24  But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:

1 Cor 14:25  And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

Transforming Power Statements:

1)     Fallen human nature continues to militate against spiritual progress, therefore must constantly be put in check to prevent spiritual decay, complacency, and degeneration of the work of the Holy Spirit, even in the life of the believer in Jesus Christ.

2)     The deceitfulness of sin has allured many off the path of truth and has caused many to be deceived who are operating in low gear, neutral, or even reverse, as they digress rather than progress in walking with the LORD.

3)     Life is like a vapor that is here today and gone tomorrow, therefore we should take advantage of every moment seeing that life is precious and a “present” from God, Who is rich in dispensing mercy every day to those who hear His voice and harden not their hearts, but rather respond in living faith and do not quench the Holy Spirit, but rather follow His leading and allow God’s working through His Word to provide the promised prosperity to prevail in their lives.
