Just in case you missed last week’s Bible Study on the enemies of the Gospel, we stated that they are the world system, our fallen flesh with its lusts, laziness, and unbelief, and the devil and all his hosts, who work through the children of disobedience to promote systems and situations of the fallen world in order to steal our peace, and press us into guilt, condemnation, and hopelessness.

Therefore, we must come to understand that trust in the promises of the Word of God is imperative if we are to walk by faith and remain lifted above the tricks of the enemies of the Gospel!

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 16:16 – 20 (KJV)

Deu 16:16  “Three times in a year all your males shall appear before the LORD your God in the place which He chooses, at the Feast of Unleavened Bread and at the Feast of Weeks and at the Feast of Booths, and they shall not appear before the LORD empty-handed.

Deu 16:17  “Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God which He has given you.

Deu 16:18  “You shall appoint for yourself judges and officers in all your towns which the LORD your God is giving you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment.

Deu 16:19  “You shall not distort justice; you shall not be partial, and you shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and perverts the words of the righteous.

Deu 16:20  “Justice, and only justice, you shall pursue, that you may live and possess the land which the LORD your God is giving you.

New Testament Scripture Reading: Titus 3:5 – 8 (KJV)

Tit 3:5  Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Tit 3:6  Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

Tit 3:7  That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Tit 3:8  This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) God’s Law is the standard of perfection, and there has never been any mere human being who has successfully kept it without any error at any time, therefore all who were saved before the coming of Messiah, Jesus, were not saved by the Law, but by the promises of God the Father to send the Savior His Son at the appointed time.

2) The three annual feasts of Judaism that were required for all males 25 years old and older were celebrations of the grace of God for the past present and future looking at all the grace that God had shown and all the great future promises He had made securing the posterity of the generations that would come afterwards.

3) Paul teaches us through Titus to understand that it is not by works of righteousness that we are saved but by the great mercies of God that He has displayed through the giving of Jesus His Only-Begotten Son Jesus, Who alone provides Salvation to everyone who believes in Him by faith!
