God’s Successful Family in the Midst of Crisis

As we continue our study on Marriage and the Family, our Pastor Landis Fisher has prepared another lesson which he has titled: “God’s Successful Family in the Midst of Crisis”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Dueteronomy 6:4 – 9  (KJV)
Deu 6:4  Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
Deu 6:5  And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Deu 6:6  And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
Deu 6:7  And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Deu 6:8  And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
Deu 6:9  And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
New Testament Scripture Reading: 1John 2:12 – 18  (KJV)
1Jn 2:12  I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.
1Jn 2:13  I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.
1Jn 2:14  I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
1Jn 2:15  Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1Jn 2:16  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
1Jn 2:17  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
1Jn 2:18  Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) Throughout the Scriptures, we see many examples of the family in crisis, but at the same time, we see God working out the details and directing the conditions to the benefit of the ones who believe in Him as He gives success to the ones who are His.

2) Israel was commanded to pass on the knowledge of God as a routine part of everyday life so that He would be included in every part of life, and be as it were a “PART OF THE FAMILY” and involved in every life decision at all times.

3) John teaches us that Spiritual growth is developed in a direct proportion to the knowledge of the Word and that this knowledge of the Word provides protection from the sinfulness of the other family who do not believe God, who are under the control of the devil and are being setup for the antichrist who is already in the world.
