God’s King Is Born

As the world, and even much of the “Visible Church” becomes increasingly biblically ignorant, we are entering a time when the precious truths of the Bible are, therefore, becoming even more special to those who are waiting for God to reveal for the second and last time His King, who is King of Kings and the LORD of Lords. Listen in to today’s message from our teacher, Pastor Landis Fisher, in a special topical message on this crucial subject which he has titled: God’s King Is Born!”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Psalms 2:1 – 12  (KJV)

Psa 2:1  Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
Psa 2:2  The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
Psa 2:3  Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
Psa 2:4  He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
Psa 2:5  Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
Psa 2:6  Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
Psa 2:7  I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
Psa 2:8  Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
Psa 2:9  Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.
Psa 2:10  Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
Psa 2:11  Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Psa 2:12  Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

New Testament Scripture Reading: Matthew 2:1 – 12  (KJV)

Mat 2:1  Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
Mat 2:2  Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
Mat 2:3  When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
Mat 2:4  And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.
Mat 2:5  And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,
Mat 2:6  And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
Mat 2:7  Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.
Mat 2:8  And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.
Mat 2:9  When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
Mat 2:10  When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
Mat 2:11  And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
Mat 2:12  And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) The Older Testament made it clear that God Himself was a great King, and that He planned to reign supreme one day even though the idea of His kingly rule was opposed by, even the covenant people, who always sought an earthly king as did all the Gentiles.

2) Prophecies stating the character of the coming king are given through the prophets throughout the Old Testament; nevertheless, Israel due to worldliness and pride as a majority missed the Christ (Messiah, King) along with the Gentiles on Jesus’ first advent.

3) But God sent His Only Begotten Son Jesus the Christ in the exact manner He had promised, at the exact time He had stated, and has set the date on which He will reign as the threefold officer: Prophet, Priest, and KING!
