Fixed on the Stability of God

Living in an ever changing world as we do can cause many fluctuations in our overall way of viewing the world and especially the world view we possess which tends to govern how we feel about all things in life and even about ourselves and others. Listen as our Pastor Landis Fisher teaches a less on how one can attain peace in a message he has titled: “Fixed on the Stability of God”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Psalms 71:1 – 14  (KJV)

Psa 71:1  In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.
Psa 71:2  Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.
Psa 71:3  Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.
Psa 71:4  Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
Psa 71:5  For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.
Psa 71:6  By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother’s bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.
Psa 71:7  I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.
Psa 71:8  Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.
Psa 71:9  Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.
Psa 71:10  For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together,
Psa 71:11  Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him.
Psa 71:12  O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help.
Psa 71:13  Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.
Psa 71:14  But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.

New Testament Scripture Reading: Hebrews 13:1 – 8  (KJV)

Heb 13:1  Let brotherly love continue.
Heb 13:2  Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
Heb 13:3  Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
Heb 13:4  Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
Heb 13:5  Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Heb 13:6  So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Heb 13:7  Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
Heb 13:8  Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) The world is filled with confusion to the point that it can be hard to choose many things in life; especially when the way many think in the world has become more man-centered and less God centered in our culture.

2) One amazing fact about God is that He never changes and has always been perfect and wants everyone to become able to rely on His stability even when all else is subject to change, so that the ones who believe in Him can dwell in peace regardless to what things are going on around them.

3) Living under the instructions of God via His Son Jesus the Christ, as one of His disciples, is the way of peace and also brings repair to everyone who trusts in Jesus and believe that God has raised Him from the dead, which is truly the only hiding place for shelter in a lost and dying world.
