The ministries of  St. Timothy Christian Church have been in progress for over Fifty Five Years, for which we thank God! Today marks for us one full year of in-person services since the pandemic! We are grateful to God for this important milestone! Furthermore, we are continuing to learn from a series of messages on a topic of “Christ In You 2022AD”; that we have adopted as a general theme for improvement of our relationships with God through Jesus Christ, and with each  other both the saved and the lost! Therefore, today we are continuing this topic with a lesson titled: “Education And Implementation Of The Tools Of Discipleship”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Joshua 1:5 – 9 (KJV)

Jos 1:5  There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Jos 1:6  Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

Jos 1:7  Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.

Jos 1:8  This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Jos 1:9  Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

 New Testament Scripture Reading: 1John 2:18 – 27 (KJV)

1Jn 2:18  Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

1Jn 2:19  They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

1Jn 2:20  But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

1Jn 2:21  I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

1Jn 2:22  Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

1Jn 2:23  Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

1Jn 2:24  Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

1Jn 2:25  And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

1Jn 2:26  These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.

1Jn 2:27  But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) God has always had a plan of salvation for mankind which He has made available to all men throughout  human history, which always had to do with knowing His Word, and applying His Word, a process known in Holy Scripture as Discipleship; which involves hearing what God said, and learning to apply what God said, in order to walk in sync with God’s fore-ordained plan; which by doing so, provision is made for the believer to walk in VICTORY that cannot ever fail!!

2) When Joshua was called to take up leadership of God’s chosen people, he was admonished to continue to be aware of what God said that Just as He had been with Moses, so He would be with him; since he was now stepping up his role to become the leader of the children of Israel, it would require him to meditate in God’s Word day and night, so that he could have guaranteed prosperity even against all the enemies he and his people would face as they went in to do God’s will against all opposition that would surely arise.

3)  The Apostle John admonishes the Church In like manner, that we too have been given God’s Word, both written, fulfilled in the flesh of Jesus, and internally witnessed by the indwelling Holy Spirit, so that we can continue in our Education And Implementation Of The Tools Of Discipleship, regardless of opposition from the world, the flesh and the devil; and that these tools are divinely powered by the Spirit to give us understanding and victory as we learn to obey, which provides power over the dark forces against God’s will.
