The method of God in His design of the plan of salvation was to establish from the stream of Gentiles a People for His own possession, which came to be known as the Jews, the “Covenant People”. Listen now as our Pastor Teacher teaches about Paul’s explanation of how God allows the rest of the Gentiles to take part in this marvelous provision of foreign righteousness in a message from Romans 11th Chapter, he has titled: “Cutting You In On The Deal”
Old Testament Scripture Reading: Psalms 69:18 – 36 (KJV)
Psa 69:18 Oh draw near to my soul and redeem it; Ransom me because of my enemies!
Psa 69:19 You know my reproach and my shame and my dishonor; All my adversaries are before You.
Psa 69:20 Reproach has broken my heart and I am so sick. And I looked for sympathy, but there was none, And for comforters, but I found none.
Psa 69:21 They also gave me gall for my food And for my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
Psa 69:22 May their table before them become a snare; And when they are in peace, may it become a trap.
Psa 69:23 May their eyes grow dim so that they cannot see, And make their loins shake continually.
Psa 69:24 Pour out Your indignation on them, And may Your burning anger overtake them.
Psa 69:25 May their camp be desolate; May none dwell in their tents.
Psa 69:26 For they have persecuted him whom You Yourself have smitten, And they tell of the pain of those whom You have wounded.
Psa 69:27 Add iniquity to their iniquity, And may they not come into Your righteousness.
Psa 69:28 May they be blotted out of the book of life And may they not be recorded with the righteous.
Psa 69:29 But I am afflicted and in pain; May Your salvation, O God, set me securely on high.
Psa 69:30 I will praise the name of God with song And magnify Him with thanksgiving.
Psa 69:31 And it will please the LORD better than an ox Or a young bull with horns and hoofs.
Psa 69:32 The humble have seen it and are glad; You who seek God, let your heart revive.
Psa 69:33 For the LORD hears the needy And does not despise His who are prisoners.
Psa 69:34 Let heaven and earth praise Him, The seas and everything that moves in them.
Psa 69:35 For God will save Zion and build the cities of Judah, That they may dwell there and possess it.
Psa 69:36 The descendants of His servants will inherit it, And those who love His name will dwell in it.
New Testament Scripture Reading: Romans 11:7 – 13 (KJV)
Rom 11:7 What then? What Israel is seeking, it has not obtained, but those who were chosen obtained it, and the rest were hardened;
Rom 11:8 just as it is written, “GOD GAVE THEM A SPIRIT OF STUPOR, EYES TO SEE NOT AND EARS TO HEAR NOT, DOWN TO THIS VERY DAY.”
Rom 11:9 And David says, “LET THEIR TABLE BECOME A SNARE AND A TRAP, AND A STUMBLING BLOCK AND A RETRIBUTION TO THEM.
Rom 11:10 “LET THEIR EYES BE DARKENED TO SEE NOT, AND BEND THEIR BACKS FOREVER.”
Rom 11:11 I say then, they did not stumble so as to fall, did they? May it never be! But by their transgression salvation has come to the Gentiles, to make them jealous.
Rom 11:12 Now if their transgression is riches for the world and their failure is riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their fulfillment be!
Rom 11:13 But I am speaking to you who are Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle of Gentiles, I magnify my ministry,
Transforming Power Statements:
1) God began by selecting Abraham out of the stream of the Gentiles and made a deal with him that we would call a “Covenant”, in which He made a PROMISE to MULTIPLY him, and BLESS him, as God’s provision. (GRACE)
2) Due to man’s own evil internal proclivity, (even Israel whom God had chosen) by their own stubbornness and that ADAMIC TENDANCY to cover themselves by their own “GOOD WORKS”; The MAJORITY of the “Covenant People” chose to REJECT their own Messiah and crucify Him, Just as God had predicted in the Old Testament.
3) In order to provoke the “Covenant People” to jealousy, God chose to allow the Gentiles to be “Cut in on the Deal” that He made with Israel and has caused Israel to be chastised under His Judgment.
