Creation Conscience and Mercy

Greetings to all seekers and believers, present and on the internet. Today we continue in our study through the excellent book of Romans. On last Lord’s Day, we learned that it pleases God when we boast in Him and are proud of His salvation through Jesus His Son contrary to how the world thinks of Him. Does God expect people to believe in Him and His Son? You bet! What about people far away, how can they come to know Him? Considering all the bad news in the world, why is there such a hostility against the greatest news in the world? Just what priority does God place on the message we call ‘the gospel’? Well grab your bible and listen to this installment of our study that we have called: “Creation Conscience and Mercy”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Psalms 32:1 – 7  (KJV)
Psa 32:1  (A Psalm of David. A Maskil.) How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered!
Psa 32:2  How blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit!
Psa 32:3  When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away Through my groaning all day long.
Psa 32:4  For day and night Thy hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was drained away as with the fever heat of summer. Selah.
Psa 32:5  I acknowledged my sin to Thee, And my iniquity I did not hide; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD”; And Thou didst forgive the guilt of my sin. Selah.
Psa 32:6  Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to Thee in a time when Thou mayest be found; Surely in a flood of great waters they shall not reach him.
Psa 32:7  Thou art my hiding place; Thou dost preserve me from trouble; Thou dost surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.
New Testament Scripture Reading: Romans 1:16 – 20  (KJV)
Rom 1:16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Rom 1:17  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Rom 1:18  For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Rom 1:19  Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it unto them.
Rom 1:20  For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Transforming Power Statements: #1) Being proud of who God is and what He has provided by His Son Jesus for all the world is reason enough to boast in God alone and not about all the things He has given us as a stewardship to enjoy and use for the honor of His Name.

#2) The Conscience is the onboard system created by God to give people a ‘moral compass’ as a warning against committing ungodly acts; it could be said that Conscience is the sense of right and wrong; the conscience is to the soul as pain is to the body.#3) The greatest natural witness for the existence of God is His creation which is available for all people to affirm that there is a God of endless glory and infinite majesty Who exceeds the limits of our imagination, Who has had mercy to provide a perfect salvation for all the sons of Adam who come to faith in Jesus Christ by the gospel.
