Conviction and Audacity

Pastor Landis Fisher was invited to be the guest speaker at one of St. Timothy M.B. Church’s Sister Churches, known as West Travelers M.B.Church, where Pastor L.E. Pegues presides for their 37th Church anniversary. Listen in to this thought provoking message which Pastor Fisher has titled: “Conviction and Audacity”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Psalms 1:1 – 6  (KJV)

Psa 1:1  Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
Psa 1:2  But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
Psa 1:3  And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Psa 1:4  The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
Psa 1:5  Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
Psa 1:6  For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

New Testament Scripture Reading: 1Peter4:1 – 8  (KJV)

1Pe 4:1  Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
1Pe 4:2  That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
1Pe 4:3  For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
1Pe 4:4  Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:
1Pe 4:5  Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.
1Pe 4:6  For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
1Pe 4:7  But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
1Pe 4:8  And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) Only God can fully convince a sinner to believe the Gospel that He so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son, and how this fact must impact him; So, How may we apply the death of Christ Jesus to ourselves in order to get the most benefit must become a deep seated conviction that drives us into action.

2) The pressures of the decay of the fallen world are ever increasing, and we see the pride of the wicked raising the bar as it were each and every day to wash out the TRUTH and to sequester and suppress the voice of the TRUTH; and give a tendency even to those professing to know the TRUTH, to shut their mouths and give in to debauchery; but those who are saved must maintain a godly AUDACITY to confront the culture, speaking the TRUTH in LOVE.

3) This AUDACITY can only be nurtured in the loving environment of the cleansing fellowship of God’s people who fully understand the power of the Gospel to forgive sin, create conviction, and produce love which covers the multitude of sins
