Cloaked With Gospel Insulation

As our pastor teacher Landis Fisher continues our ongoing study on “Marriage and Family” we arrive today at a most important facet of walking the Christian life with a special knowledge of the protection provided by God for the ones who believe Him through the understanding He has provided for everyone through His holy and inerrant Word. Listen today as Pastor Fisher presents this installment on this vital topic in a message he has titled: “Cloaked With Gospel Insulation”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Psalms 91:1 – 16  (KJV)

Psa 91:1  He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Psa 91:2  I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Psa 91:3  Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
Psa 91:4  He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Psa 91:5  Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Psa 91:6  Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
Psa 91:7  A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Psa 91:8  Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Psa 91:9  Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
Psa 91:10  There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
Psa 91:11  For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
Psa 91:12  They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Psa 91:13  Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
Psa 91:14  Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
Psa 91:15  He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
Psa 91:16  With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

New Testament Scripture Reading: John 16:26 – 33  (KJV)

Joh 16:26  At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
Joh 16:27  For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
Joh 16:28  I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
Joh 16:29  His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.
Joh 16:30  Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.
Joh 16:31  Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?
Joh 16:32  Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
Joh 16:33  These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) People who believe God are allowed to view the world in the way God sees it and to benefit from having an inside view of the way things really are as they are revealed in the Word of Truth, rather than being tossed to and fro with the whims of others who do not know God and therefore, operate as if He does not exist.

2) The Word of God when applied to our lives places us inside as it were a cloak of protection from a myriad of dangers seen and perceived by others who choose to exist in spiritual blindness who live their lives with no regard to what thus saith the LORD, and this world is a dangerous place to be if there is no Gospel Insulation to provide a cover to protect the fallen soul.

3) The Most High God chose to make His Only begotten Son the focal point of the human condition by giving His life for full satisfaction of His holy wrath against the curse of sin so that the ones who embrace Jesus the Christ as Savior can live under the cloak of His righteousness knowing they are recipients of His mercy and are elevated to the status of the sons and daughters of the only true and living God by faith.
