Christmas the Manifestation of the Eternal Purposes of God

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Psalms 102:21 – 28 (KJV):

Psa 102:21  To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;

Psa 102:22  When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.

Psa 102:23  He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.

Psa 102:24  I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations.

Psa 102:25  Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.

Psa 102:26  They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:

Psa 102:27  But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.

Psa 102:28  The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.

New Testament Scripture: Hebrews 1:6 – 12 (KJV)

Heb 1:6  And again, when he bringeth in the first-begotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

Heb 1:7  And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

Heb 1:8  But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

Heb 1:9  Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

Heb 1:10  And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:

Heb 1:11  They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;

Heb 1:12  And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.

1) The incarnation of Jesus Christ, (which we celebrate at Christmas) is the marvelous initial fulfillment of promises made by God even before the world began within the God-Head to extract from out of all the human beings a set of believers to become the eternal Bride of Jesus The Christ (Redeemer) the Son of God, totally by Grace!

2) Before there was anything made, and even before there was any sin committed, before there was any created thing, God determined to redeem for His Son, Jesus The Christ (Messiah) a people for His own possession which are known as THE CHURCH, which includes the JEWS (who come to believe in Jesus the Messiah) and all believing GENTILES, who all together make up the Bride of Christ!

3) Let us who believe (in Jesus the MESSIAH) have a very special celebration of the AWESOME reality of what Christmas (THE FIRST ADVENT) really is, and how blessed we truly are, and share these facts with the world so that there can really be for them who accept HIM, a reason to sing with us and the Hosts of heaven; JOY TO THE WORLD THE LORD IS COME!
