Choosing To Walk By Faith

print

In our previous message we learned that there’s a difference between the mindset of God’s children and those of the devil. Today, let us consider what the Bible teaches about the assignment of the Church, to share the love of God out to everyone to be accepted or rejected. This message is titled: “Choosing To Walk By Faith”

Old Testament Scripture Reading Proverbs 16:1 – 9 (NASB)

Pro 16:1  The plans of the heart belong to man, But the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.

Pro 16:2  All the ways of a man are clean in his own sight, But the LORD weighs the motives.

Pro 16:3  Commit your works to the LORD And your plans will be established.

Pro 16:4  The LORD has made everything for its own purpose, Even the wicked for the day of evil.

Pro 16:5  Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD; Assuredly, he will not be unpunished.

Pro 16:6  By lovingkindness and truth iniquity is atoned for, And by the fear of the LORD one keeps away from evil.

Pro 16:7  When a man’s ways are pleasing to the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Pro 16:8  Better is a little with righteousness Than great income with injustice.

Pro 16:9  The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.

New Testament Scripture Reading: Romans 8:1 – 11 (KJV)

Rom 8:1  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Rom 8:2  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Rom 8:3  For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

Rom 8:4  That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Rom 8:5  For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

Rom 8:6  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Rom 8:7  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Rom 8:8  So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Rom 8:9  But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Rom 8:10  And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

Rom 8:11  But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) Solomon writes in the Proverbs many principles that help us understand how trusting God benefits the believers and gives us insight into how to see the world through the attitudes of God, Who is over all things.

2) After the flood, God began to streamline his plan to send His Son Jesus Christ via divine miracle, through the dead loins of Abraham, to produce a special people for His Own possession; who came to be known as The Israelites; The Sons Of Jacob.

3) The choice to walk by the Spirit, Who is the author of the Word is a great testimony of God’s love toward all who trust Him, Who has given His Only Begotten Son to show us the benefits of Choosing To Walk By Faith.
