Old Testament Scripture Reading: Isaiah 54:13 – 17 (KJV)

Isa 54:13  And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

Isa 54:14  In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.

Isa 54:15  Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.

Isa 54:16  Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.

Isa 54:17  No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

New Testament Scripture Reading: John 6:40 – 45 (KJV)

Joh 6:40  And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Joh 6:41  The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.

Joh 6:42  And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?

Joh 6:43  Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.

Joh 6:44  No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Joh 6:45  It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) The covenants God made can be seen as indelible commitments to preserve, teach, and deliver the “covenant people” from going into the same destruction incurred by the people in the days of Noah, which ended in a complete destruction of all their works, with the exception of eight souls whom God brought through the flood in order to save humankind for intimacy with Himself.

2) Upon realization that we are the ones whom He has called, saved and delivered, we accept whose we have become and allow Him to teach us to be the kind of men and women we are supposed to be and to know that we are not our own, because we have been bought with a price; the precious blood of Jesus!

3) Just as Jesus sent His disciples out to explain the Kingdom even before they were fully trained, so also He sends us out to broadcast the gospel of the Kingdom and to pursue the high calling to which we have been called; so that we may each display to all others the goodness and mercy we have come to love and that it is available to all who believe the Gospel as we apply each lesson in every situation.
